BATANGAS, Philippines – Police have arrested the two primary suspects linked to the case of missing beauty queen contestant Catherine Camilon.

Dismissed cop Allan de Castro and his bodyguard-driver Jeffrey Magpantay were arrested in separate manhunt operations in Barangay Caloocan, Balayan, Batangas, on September 14, following the release of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Jacqueline Hernandez Palmes of Regional Trial Court, Fourth Judicial Region, Branch 3, Batangas City.

The two are facing charges of kidnapping and serious illegal detention which were initially dismissed last April 16.

Camilon’s family, however, filed a motion for reconsideration last May 23, and was granted on August 15.

The court subsequently issued an arrest warrant on September 4.

Batangas PNP Public Information Office chief Police Major Dave Mercado said the suspects were arrested by operatives of the Batangas PNP Special Intelligence and Tracker Team.

De Castro and Magpantay are currently detained at the Balayan Custodial Facility.

Camilon was last seen October 12, 2023 and was reported missing five days later. – Rappler.com
