MANILA, Philippines – On the last session day of the 19th Congress before the mid-term elections, February 5, various groups took to Manila streets in a show of force for the anti-adolescent pregnancies bill.
The advocates, who included youth, workers, and parents, called for the bill’s passage, and for the continued implementation of comprehensive sexuality education (CSE).
The mobilization comes as years-long progress for the bill is derailed by a campaign launched by a religious coalition called Project Dalisay. Project Dalisay has falsely claimed that CSE will teach children about sex at an early age.
